How the calculators work

The math, briefly.

Every number we output is grounded in a published reference. We list them here so you can audit - or correct - us.

  1. No. 01

    Seated geometry

Desk and chair heights come from Hokwerda et al.'s seated anthropometric percentiles, adjusted for shoe height and a 100°-110° hip angle target.

  2. No. 02

    Monitor distance

Eye-to-screen distance follows the AOA arm's-length rule (50-70 cm), tuned by screen size and pixel density.

  3. No. 03

    Chair fit

Seat-pan depth, lumbar height, and armrest range filtered against our 240-product database. Updated quarterly.

  4. No. 04

    Budget allocation

Weighted toward chair (45-55%) for desk-bound work, monitor (15-20%) for visual workers, lighting (5-10%) baseline.
