How It Works
Keep it Green by helping to save our enviornment by selecting Locus Workstation. The lifting mechanism of the Locus Workstation is a simple and elegant German-made system designed to effortlessly glide up and down. Turning the small hand crank on the front frame of the desk drives a series of three hardened steel rods and gears. The gears are self-locking, so the height of the desk won’t slip once set. The one-to-two purchase on the crank gearbox means you don’t have to turn it many times to make your adjustments. The simplicity of the mechanism ensures years of service.

Yes! It pivots from flat to a 15˚ angle. There are adjustment dials on either side of the desk.
Can I use the Locus Seat with a different standing desk?
Yes! The Locus Seat can only be used with upright standing desks. Just be sure the seat base can fit beneath your standing desk.
Can the desk be used with a regular office chair?
No, we do not recommend this. The desk lowers to 36,” which is several inches higher than a typical desktop. We promote an upright lifestyle rather than sitting in a typical office chair.
Can I put the LED task light on either side of the desk?
Yes! The light is installed by you, so you can decide which cup holder to remove and replace with the light base.
How do my computer cables stay tidy and out of the way?
We recommend the optional cable management tray, which will be available in Spring 2013. In addition, each desk comes with small black clips on the back of the desk leg to guide the power cord down to the floor.
What is the work surface I see in the images of the desktop?
Your Locus desk comes with a slightly grippy synthetic leather work pad. It helps prevent objects rolling off the tilted desk. It is not adhered to the desk and can be removed.
How do I adjust the desktop?
There are two adjustment levers on either side of the desk; these adjust the tilt of the desktop. There is a hand crank in the center of the cross bar that allows you to gently raise or lower the height of the desktop.
How much does the workstation weigh?
The Locus Seat weighs about 35 lbs and the Locus desk weighs about 87 lbs. The seat has two wheels that allow it to be easily moved about.
Can the desk top accommodate two computer monitors?
The desktop dimensions are 30” x 48.” The best way to arrange multiple monitors would be to use clamps or brackets to position the monitors at slight angles. Additionally, our fixed upper shelf will be a great place to attach one single monitor.
